The Brief

The goal of the project was to secure the relationship with the prospective students during the recruitment period. The project also created and implemented tools (Sitecore marketing suite) that gave the organisation a greater understanding of the potential student’s objectives and goals, so USQ can better serve them with information and support that helps prospective students achieve their objectives.

The Approach

User Research
I analysed the user research which was conducted at the university by a UX architect in Brisbane. I then documented the findings using ‘mind maps’. The purpose of mind maps was to visually illustrate the analysis and findings of each research activity undertaken.

Competitor analysis
I researched best practices of global and local competitors.

Expert Review
I conducted an expert review of the existing website and its online presence.

Key statistics
I analysed the Google Analytics to understand how users are interacting with the website, in terms of popular pages, search terms, bounce rate, etc.

Presentation
I created a presentation (60+ pages) of findings and recommendations to the stakeholders.

Wireframing
Based on the research findings, I started sketching to generate ideas for the website. I went on to craft wireframes for all key templates.

Outcome

The initial scope was to redesign only the ‘Future Students’ section of the USQ website and the project was successfully completed on time. The current look and feel of the website confirms that rest of the USQ website was later redesign to match the experience of the future students section.
